What does a lip lift do?
What a successful lip lift looks like in photos
A successful result should be visible in an after photo taken at the same angle and in the same light as the before photo, with a stated time since surgery. Ask the surgeon to show photos of that kind and to name the change in them that counts as the goal. What a lip lift does for you is the surgeon's answer to give.
Measuring a verb like "refreshes"
"Does" is the claim word in this question. A clinic page might say a procedure "enhances" or "refreshes," and I quote the verb and ask what it would look like measured. A verb that cannot be seen in a photo, or that depends on which photo, is not a result.
If the plan involves an incision, the scar question matters. The AAD page on scars: diagnosis and treatment gives you vocabulary for that conversation. For the question of which lip treatment fits which goal, see the society blog post on the best lip enhancement treatment for you.
Scar and goal questions
Ask where the scar would sit and how it is expected to look. Ask whether the goal is cosmetic, functional or both. Ask to see results on patients who are not selected for the brochure. For one named variant, an article on the bullhorn lip lift covers the procedure, cost and what to expect, so you can ask whether that is the version being offered.
Effects only an exam can describe
A claim check is not medical advice. What a procedure does for you is something only a surgeon who has examined you can describe.
